Equitrails offers a variety of horseriding activities to both the local and tourism market.

One and two night lodge based trails are the perfect way to experience the stunning scenery and wildlife Namibia has to offer. For visitors to Namibia with limited time available to them, a morning or afternoon horse ride is the perfect way to start or end your journey. For local riders wanting to ride regularly a special package deal can be arranged.

Rides by the hour

Accompanied, guided rides throughout the farm. The experience level of the riders will determine the pace of the ride. All levels of riding ability catered for.
Beginners - Experienced

Sundowner Rides

A gentle afternoon guided ride through the hills, valleys and riverbeds of the farm. Watch the mountains light up with the setting sun whilst sipping the drink of your choice and sampling the delicious snacks on offer. An evening braai can be arranged for those wishing to extend their tour.

Mountain Champagne Breakfast Rides

For the more adventurous and experienced rider a trip into the mountains will be a unforgettable journey. Breakfast is served on a mountaintop with incredible views over the surrounding vistas and a panoramic view of the city.

Picnic Day Ride

A day’s adventure deep into the mountains, spotting game along the way and experiencing the awesome scenery and serenity of your surroundings. A picnic lunch is carried en route.

One and Two Night Lodge Based Excursions

Arranged with the guests requirements in mind: e.g. One night excursion: Have an early start from Elisenheim Guest Farm with a 5/6 hour picnic ride through the mountains to a neighbouring lodge, relax there for the afternoon, perhaps joining in on one of their afternoon activities (non inclusive). Have dinner and overnight at the lodge. After breakfast at the lodge another picnic ride back to Elisenheim the following day.

Experienced only

What to bring:

  • Long, comfortable (not too tight!) trousers or leggings.
  • Sensible closed shoes with a small heel and non-slip sole.
  • Long sleeved cotton shirt to protect from the sun.
  • Hard helmets will be provided and are strongly recommended.
  • Sun block and lipsalve are recommended.
  • All riders will be required to sign an indemnity form prior to riding.
